Cathrine Scott Adv. Dip. CP, MCS (Acc.), Dip Hyp, LHS, ARCM
Cathrine Scott combines her work as a counsellor with a distinguished career as a musician. She has performed on the flute in recitals, concertos and recordings in many parts of the world, frequently in partnership with her twin sister Helen.
Her experience with a troubled pupil some years ago convinced her that she had an aptitude and a natural inclination for helping people, and she embarked on a lengthy programme of training as a counsellor.
Cathrine provides counselling at a GP surgery near her home in Somerset. She also sees private clients. Cathrine believes in a highly personal and "human" counseling methodology, and in tailoring treatment programmes closely to each client rather than imposing a "formula" or "ticking boxes." She believes in a completely confidential and ethical approach.
Catherine has experience with a wide variety of presenting issues, such as anxiety, phobia, weight loss and depression. She provides couples counselling, and is a specialist in the area of "performance anxiety" for artists, musicians and speakers who suffer from stage fright or whose performance is affected by anxiety or other negative states of mind.
